According to PeepingMoon.com, Pushpa 2 star Rashmika Mandanna has been cast opposite Shahid Kapoor in Cocktail 2. The actress will play one of the two female leads in this love triangle, while discussions for the second leading lady are in the final stages (hint: she has collaborated frequently with Maddock Films). Shahid and Rashmika have been eager to work together, and they are finally teaming up for this musical rom-com. The duo was previously set to collaborate on Anees Bazmee’s double-role comedy last year, but budget constraints halted the project.

Dinesh Vijan is assembling a dynamic ensemble cast for this urban romantic comedy, promising a fresh perspective on love and friendship. Much like its predecessor, Cocktail 2 will explore the complex dynamics of relationships among free-spirited individuals, aiming to capture the charm and relatability of the 2012 film while appealing to today’s young audience. Once he wraps up Vishal Bhardwaj’s gangster thriller Arjun Ustara, Shahid Kapoor will begin shooting for Cocktail 2. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Arjun Ustara stars Triptii Dimri and is based on the fearless underworld don Hussain Ustara, who had a fierce rivalry with mafia kingpin Dawood Ibrahim. After that, Shahid will portray a cop in Deva, directed by Rosshan Andrrews, set for a theatrical release on January 31, 2025.
